I NEED this post

Motherhood-"the highest, holiest service...assumed by mankind" New Era
"Your success as a family....our success as a nation...depends not on what happens inside the White House, but on what happens inside your house."Barbara Bush
Here's to Good women:
May we know them,
May we be them and
May we raise them.
I love being married, I love Phil; he helps me realize who I am and how much I can do better. He is very tactful and really hit the nail on the head for me this week. I have been struggling a long while with being a mother. Boston is my greatest joy and greatest trial right now. I am learning a new form of patience with her. Most days I love her to pieces and other days I just wish I was single and a missionary again. I blurted out one evening that Motherhood is supposed to be filled with Joy and Love. Phil then reassured me that we have to find the Joy and love, that's what makes it so worth it. It was like throwing a brick through a glass wall. I LOVE the lessons we learn when we have others to help us point out our weaknesses. I've been reading I Am A Mother, by Jane Clayson Johnson. It was been a great source of strength along with the scriptures. I'm grateful we are able to have children and for the most part she has been healthy. I pray ever minute of everyday for strength and courage to enjoy the moments I have now and not want Boston to grow up to soon. I love both Phil and Boston and am thankful for the temple that makes us an eternal unit. I'm humbled by the Lord's love and patience with me through this time in my life right now. I know He loves me and this will all be worth it someday.

I love the post - we ALL need that reminder! Hang in there, you are such a wonderful mom. We will be praying about the surgery as well.

Motherhood was given to women because their hearts are so big, and we can do anything! You are doing a great job. I think the biggest thing we learn is PATIENCE. Keep your chin up. love you!

Very insightful Phil. I like the pictures of the two of you through the years...(or should I say through the 'year').

I love YOU Miken. Amen to all and I'm glad to know that I'm not alone in this struggle.

The Bravest Battle (Joaquin Miller)

The bravest battle that ever was fought!
Shall I tell you where or when?
On the maps of the world you will find it not;
'Twas fought by the mothers of men.

Nay, not with cannon or battle-shot,
With a sword or noble pen;
Nay, not with eloquent words or thought
From the mouths of wonderful men!

But deep in a walled-up woman's heart -
Of a woman that would not yield,
But bravely, silently bore her part -
Lo there is the battlefield!

No marshaling Troops, no bivouac song,
No banner to gleam or wave;
But oh! These battles, they last so long -
From babyhood to the grave.

Yet, faithful still as a bridge of stars
She fights in her walled-up town -
Fights on and on in the endless wars,
Then, silent, unseen, goes down.

Oh, ye with banners and battle-shot
And soldiers to shout and praise!
I tell you the kingliest victories fought
Were fought in those silent ways.

O spotless woman in a world of shame,
With splendid and silent scorn,
Go back to God as white as you come -
The kingliest warrior born!

We are raying and fasting for Boston too. You are a great mom, I know it must be difficult at times especially with all the infections and stuf baby B has, hopefully once the surgery is over, she will be a happy new little Boston. It is no wonder you get bummed at times with everything, when a baby has that many ear infections, life is no fun for ANYONE. I promise it will get better. I know that month that the Dr.s said Kenz was fine and then her ear drum finally burst, that was teh longest most stresseful month of my life. You guys are in our prayers. Hang in there girl. I love you!
