A sad day in America...and in our home.

Well, last night was a very disturbing night in our home. Phil came up and told me that the president had signed the health-care bill. Are you freaking kidding me? We now have a very slim chance at reserving our freedom, but still a chance. As we were drifting off to sleep last night, Phil leaned over and said "you know the worst part of all of it is; there is absolutely nothing I can do about it, nothing you or the girls can, our fate is in the hands of some jack-ass in Washington, I'm so glad I'm getting out of the service so I don't have to swear my life to defend this, I will defend our family and our country but not those who support communism."

We are a very conservative family. We take our beliefs and freedom very serious and for us to be mandated to buy health-care in order to be an American citizen is just the beginning of a downward spiral. How on earth have the people of this great nation just hand over our rights? It's like Satan with a flaxen cord, slowly wrapping it around and then BAM, he's got us.
I hope we all take this very seriously and get our lives in order so we can protect our families from the storm that's just getting started. Thank you to all of you who do do your part, whether big or small and to the men and women serve our country. God Bless America.

So well said, Miken! I have a pit in my stomach and now more than ever like you said, we need to get prepared for what is to come. This is only the beginning!

Does this mean Phil will decline VA health insurance to show his disdain for what it represents? :)

yup i agree with phil, and it does sicken me that there is not anything we can do about it. and listening to the president talk about how great it is and how it is what americans wanted. which americans was he listening too? not the ones i know. i almost threw the remote at the hotel tv but ended up changing the channel before i vomited on his bile. did make me so thankful for my testimony of the gospel, food storage and getting debt free. it will be a long freaky roller coaster after this.

You'll have to ask him Aubrey. In the end some one will always get screwed. But to have our God given free agency taken away from us-wow, not what I voted for. To tax the rich 45%, the president and his Congress exempt from any of this-won't effect them at all, where's the justice in that? To be put in jail or sent to prision if we don't purchase health-care, since when is that right? This country at least stood for free agency at one point in time.

I was shocked when I heard the news last night about the health care bill.
I have to agree, I am so thankful for my testimony and for the the power of the priesthood in my life and home. With the craziness that is happening in our country at this time and with it going to continue, I am grateful that I can call upon the my husband to use his priesthood to bless me and my family when needed.

I left a socialist country to come to America the Beautiful.....mmmm Iam liking my country a little more each time I hear what those wallies are doing in Washington. Just over a year the president has done this much damage, imagine what he can do in four years! Brace yourselves America. However all that being said and what I said to Bryce yesterday, we need to be able to find JOY IN THE JOURNEY, for hearts are being prepared to receive the Gospel. Righteousness is all around us, there is SO MUCH JOY to be found.
