Boston's Big Day

Today was Boston's 14th month being here with us. She also had her first surgery. They finally decided to put tubes in her ears. It was a training day-go figure with the Air Force, so instead of having her surgery 1st thing in the morning it was at 10am. So we woke her up last night around 11:45pm and I fed her one last time. No eating or drinking after midnight.
She did great with out eating or drinking-better than Phil and I did. Bless her little heart, she was so cute in her hospital gown. We could not get a good picture so this is what we got. She was only gone for about 20 minutes. She was pretty trashed for the first 2o minutes of waking up. I did worse than she did, the smell of the anaesthetise makes me puke; thank goodness I had her blanket to smell into while I was feeding her. Surgery went great. She is doing great! Happier than ever, so we are so thankful for that. We are very humbled to be her parents and thankful for the opportunity we have to raise our little B.

She did not want to stand-she hated the socks they made her wear.

After surgery, she was pretty miserable. She was trying to take off her bracelet and heart monitor. Phil is in none of the pictures, he looks like he was on drugs. He took a muscle relaxer the the night before and was pretty wasted all day. So I had two babies to take care of. The joys of motherhood.

On the way home, sweet baby B.

I am so glad the surgery went good. That would be really hard to send your baby into surgery.

Yay! Glad the surgery is over and she did great! She is a cutie. It is so hard being in the hospital and knowing your baby is going through something that is no fun. I hate the smell too, I have so many unpleasant flashbacks when I am in the hospital. At least I have a couple good hospital memories too(having Skyler and MaKenzie)

We had so much fun in Hawaii. Piko took the whole month of July off and 10 days of that we spent waiting for a Hop either from Travis or from Hickam. It was well worth the wait, it helped us save $5,000.

Hey! I am SO glad everything went well with the tubes. We've done tubes, too... it is so hard to hand your baby to a complete stranger and hope everything comes out. Way to go. Tubes are a LIFE SAVER... we've had NO ear problems since tubes. I hope it helps Boston!!!
